Exceptions: Sometimes it is not possible to have the "fixing" surgery completed before placement. In those cases, a $50 compliance deposit will be taken. That will be a separate check that will be held, unprocessed, until the agreed upon deadline for the surgery. If proof-of-surgery is provided in that timeframe, the check or credit card transaction will be destroyed or returned. If proof is not provided, the deposit will be processed and efforts will begin to recover the animal. The deposit, in such cases, will not be returned.
GrandPaws: The Central Valley Rescue Railroad (formerly Foothill Adoption Division) has created a program for our senior citizens. We have a very soft spot in our hearts for our older shelter dogs and cats and want to help them return to loving homes. If you are over 60 you may adopt a dog over 5 years for $50 or a cat over 5 years for $25. These fees include spay or neuter and appropriate vaccinations.
