Update May 4, 2021: Gaston was returned to us by his pet parents because they could see he was too stressed by the changed circumstances of their household. They adopted him with already having a toddler and expecting a baby. While Gaston took well to the parents, joining them on the couch and sleeping on their bed he avoided the toddler. In the noisy daytime he would stay in the parents bedroom. Then the new baby came and the noise and changes and less evening quiet time with the parents had him more stressed. They made the decision to do what was best and returned him and gave us his cat tree and food bowl and favorite toy. Now back with his original foster mom he has relaxed and is always seeking attention and wanting his face rubbed. Gaston may only be adopted by a household with older teenage children or no children, pet parents that are happy he comes to them and works for his trust. His cat tree goes with him, food bowls and favorite toys. He was raised with other kittens, and is doing well with the other foster cats. He did fine as a single cat in the household of his previous home. He has never been outside and the now previous pet parents stated he never "ran for the open front door to get outside".

It is suggested as with all feline adoptions to keep a new companion indoors for a several weeks so they become familiar with the new surroundings. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
