Momma "Mia" came to us from a home in Ivanhoe, CA. During their visit, we took in a total of 8 canine companions to help get their count down. They were given information of other resources for spay & neuter and re-homing.

It was not known to us when we took Mia that she was pregnant. Since the father or fathers were unknown or could have been related, we opted to terminate.

We are handling all the companions from the home as most had limited contact with people (it was crazy trying to catch them). Mia is hesitant at first but is warming up more. At night she has decided to sleep in one of the foster parent renter room. During the day, she can be found lounging in the sun on his bed and floor.

It is now time for Mia to have her own family to grow with. Does well with other companions that were already being fostered in the home. As for cats, she chases them so you would have to work on that to stop as we have been doing (we have 3-5 cats being fostered at the same home).

As with any new companion, it is wise to spend good quality time with them and let them explore their new surrounding while you set the boundaries. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.

Love of Animals will screen potential adoption parents to ensure the companion WILL NOT be a fighting dog.
